Audit
Auditing is an essential part of the implementation of all
safety programs. The purpose of an audit is to verify that the
procedures, policies, and practices developed for compliance
with a specific regulation actually address the requirements.
Perhaps, more importantly, the purpose of an audit is to verify
that the procedures, policies, and practices are followed as
planned. Kazarians & Associates, Inc. provides program audit
services for all safety related regulationsspecifically:
OSHA Compliance, Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management
Plan (RMP), and California Accidental Release Prevention (CalARP).
Experts are assigned to audit projects that have extensive experience
with the implementation of compliance programs for the specific
regulations, and the specific processes present in the target
facility.
Our audit process always includes a review of the documents
available at the facility, interviews with facility management
and key personnel, and direct observations of the conditions
at the facility. From this document review, the level of completeness
of the documentation is established. From interviews, the level
of understanding of facility personnel is assessed related to
program requirements. These interviews also allow the auditors
to gain an understanding of the conditions and events in the
facility that may be relevant to program implementation. Our
audit reports always contain two types of recommendations: one
set of recommendations address non-compliant conditions, and
the other set addresses suggestions to improve the level of
safety, or to avert potential non-compliance conditions. These
recommendations also typically include guidance for achieving
the desired implementation.
