Experience Base – Standard Operating Procedures

As an integral part of all PSM and Program Levels 2 and 3 RMP and CalARP programs developed for our clients, we have provided a set of SOPs for the affected systems. The following is a summary of our experience:

• Kazarians & Associates, Inc. has developed SOPs for: chlorine injection systems, ammonia refrigeration systems, chemical handling in manufacturing shops, an anhydrous ammonia railcar unloading system, and aqueous ammonia injection systems.
• Separate procedures have been developed for maintenance activities—for example, draining and evacuating a system of hazardous materials before opening and draining oil from a refrigeration system.
• For several clients we developed lesson plans for specific training needs, and then we conducted Standard Operating Procedure training sessions.
