Experience Base – Safety Program Development:

We have developed the policies and procedures necessary for compliance with OSHA regulations for several facilities from a wide range of industries. In addition to the development of written programs and administrative procedures, we have been intimately involved in the implementation of these policies and procedures. The following are examples from relevant projects undertaken by Kazarians & Associates, Inc.:

General OSHA Compliance and Injury and Illness Prevention Programs – For a large cold storage distribution center, all the necessary programs were developed for compliance with OSHA requirements and with California's Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Included in the plan were the respiratory protection, hazard communication, and fire prevention programs and plans. All personnel located at the facility were trained on the required procedures. Special sessions were provided for SCBA training.

Safety Services for an Aerospace Manufacturing Plant - We provided the personnel for the day-to-day environmental, health and safety management of an aerospace parts manufacturer to ensure continuous compliance with OSHA, EPA and other local, state and federal regulations. As part of this effort we updated the existing safety and health procedures, conducted safety committee meetings, and facilitated emergency response drills.

Safety Services for a Major Food Processing Plant - For a major tuna canning facility we assisted in the development and implementation of plant-wide safety programs. The facility was audited for compliance with OSHA and Fire Code requirements. A series of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) were conducted for a number of tasks. Employee training was provided on a regular basis on safety procedures and other related matters.

Safety Services for a Large Cold Storage Facility - We were retained by a large cold storage operator in the Los Angeles area to provide the day-to-day facility safety management to reduce the incidence rate of safety violations and to ensure continuous compliance with OSHA requirements. We accelerated safety committee meetings, provided additional personnel training, and conducted a series of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) with the participation of the employees. The number of incidences was reduced dramatically in a short time.

Safety Advisor for Mobil Torrance Refinery - Mr. Steve Maher of Risk Management Professionals, Inc. (a member of the RMP Services Partnership) is the Program Manager and key technical resource for an advisory project that involves a comprehensive evaluation of all safety and environmental activities of the refinery, making necessary recommendations, and monitoring implementation. This project also involves interfacing with the court that oversees the safety advisor activities, and the legal and political representatives. This project encompasses all key safety and environmental elements of plant design and operations.
